Crafted in stoneware, the chicken roaster's construction retains heat, enabling it to continue cooking from the inside out. A conical center vertically hoists the chicken to allow the fat and juices to run off and collect in the roaster's basin, for disposal or making gravy. For pouring, a spout is molded along the rim. The basin also provides ample room for roasting potatoes, carrots, and assorted stuffing. To transport chicken to and fro, the roaster is molded with two tab-style handles on the sides.
